''Congress-Orchestra'' History

“Congress-Orchestra” is an official company of Saint-Petersburg Philharmonic Society with a history of 200 years.
The field of the orchestra's activities is very broad.
During the decades the orchestra collaborate with Musorgsky Opera and Ballet Theatre, Boris Eifman Ballet Company and another leading ballet companies of Saint-Petersburg. For many years this orchestra has been appearing on the concert stages with the best soloists and performers of Saint-Petersburg. This musical company is well-known among Saint-Petrsburg public by its concerts which take part in Saint-Petrsburg Philharmony halls, and also in the historical interiors of Sheremetev and Yusupov Palace. “Congress-Orchestra” works with the record studios as well. In 2001 in assotiation with Saint-Petersburg Philharmonic Society there was a compact disc recorded which included the compositions of Glinka, Mozart, Prokofiev. Repeatedly, “Congress-Orchestra” used to have tours abroad. There were performances in England, Germany, Spain,Holland, Japan that went off with a grate success.
